The Diploma of Dance Education offered to those 17 years or older, who have already achieved their Intermediate Examination in their desired subject,
the opportunity to complete their training and become fully qualified and accredited ISTD dance teacher.

This Qualification can be done in Ballet, Modern and Tap.
​
Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE)
The DDE qualification is divided into five units, as shown below.

Unit 1 Planning Techniques and Evaluation of Dance
Teaching

Unit 2 Dance Teaching Practice
​
Unit 3 Lifespan Development and Learning in Dance
​
Unit 4 Dance Practice and the Relationship between
Music and Dance in a Chosen Dance Genre
​
Unit 5 Contextual Study of Dance
Teacher Training
(ISTD & RAD)
Once you have completed certain units, you don't need to retake them for each genre. They apply across the board.
We have numerous trainee teachers currently working towards all genres and at different stages, with new candidates beginning each term.
We offer in-person weekly classes but also online training for those further afield who can't travel to the studio each week.
